The subtitle creation process consists in using a plain text file containing the dialog lines in sequential order and apply these lines as subtitles into the opened media file during the video playback using just a click.   How to view subtitled movies

The recommended choice is to use Media Player Classic or RadLight, since both players include native subtitle support in many formats. Also, you can install the VobSub filter to apply the subtitles into any DirectShow capable video player as well.

If you need to embed subtitles on video, you can do it with VirtualDub through DivXLand Media Subtitler directly, as long as your video is in either AVI or MPEG format, or use the Permanent Subtitles guide provided by DivXLand.org.
